Club Volunteers

What is volunteering?

Volunteering is about choosing to help other people by giving up your time or expertise. There are many different types of volunteering activities and the different opportunities can involve people giving up several hours a week, or helping at one event when it is convenient for the volunteer.

Why Volunteer?

Every person’s motivation to volunteer is different and there are a lot of reasons to make a contribution to our club’s activities. People often volunteer because they will:

  • make a difference
  • gain a lot of satisfaction from helping others
  • meet people and socialise
  • develop existing and new skills
  • give something back to the sport

If you think that you might have the time to help us then please have a look at some of the areas we would like help with.

Coaching

Coaching is at the heart of cycling performance at every level from teaching basic bike handling skills in a school or club through to training athletes for the Olympic Games or Tour de France. There are coaching courses available from British Cycling that will allow you to achieve your coaching goals; coaching at the level you want. Talk to James for more information.

Officiating

We are always on the look out for club members and their friends & families to help us with the running of events and with on-track marshalling. If you are interested in helping, please talk to Chris Werner.
